I was with Pressidium and WP Engine prior to Kinsta, and never had as much downtime. The Kinsta team is amazingly quick to respond, and their support chat is laser fast, but I would rather not be having downtime at all, and not have to engage support. Hopefully this will be something they improve.

I personally use Pingdom, but the articles talks about UptimeRobot, which I’ve also used. UptimeRobot is likely easier to get started than Pingdom to monitor your site.

Plus, for those of us who manage websites but outsource the tech (read: non-techies), can someone please tell me what tool you use to measure up & downtime? Thanks very much!

I’m a musician who is on the verge of starting a small site which won’t have much traffic (to begin with, at least) and this article admits freely that Kinsta would be overkill for this scenario. Does anyone here care to recommend a smaller web hosting company that i should check out to get my plane off the ground? Maybe Kinsta comes later….
