I never recommend WordPress.com to my clients, as you don’t actually own your website – wordpress.com owns it. They have the right to disable your account, if they see fit. In that event, that means the associated site(s) gets turned off. It’s better to own your own domain and purchase your own hosting (hopefully that includes back-ups). It’s more work, but that way there’s never any doubt as to who can do what to the site.
